UMSA University of Buenos Aires appointed "Ambassador of the United States of the World"
At the headquarters of the University of the Museo Social Argentino (UMSA) in Buenos Aires, the ceremony was held to designate the University an "AMBASSADOR OF THE UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD".
The International Committee of the "United States of the World", at its plenary session held in Naples on 18 November 2022, designated the University for being the oldest to deal with the problems and history of migration in Argentina.
The title of "Ambassador of the United States of the World" was handed over by Prof. Caterina Arcidiacono - delegated by the Secretary General - to the University's dean Prof. Gustavo Maùçel together with Prof. Antonio Ismael La Palma (community psychology).
The "Ambassadors of the World" appointed since 1994 include Francois Mitterand, Helmut Khol, Shimon Peres, Abu Mazen, Anibal Cavaco Silva, the Nobel prizes Naguib Mahfouz and Shirine Ebadi, Mohamed-El Aziz Ben Achour, Patrizio Bianchi, Moez Sinaoui, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and many others.
