Since 1987, the United States of the World project has found many supporters who have testified to the need for urgent action to save the Earth and ensure Peace.
From the Heads of State and Government assembled in Naples in 1994 for the G7 to the Presidents of the Italian Republic to date; from Nobel Prize winners to representatives of international institutions: a choral ensemble of Great Voices for the United States of the World that attest to the validity of a complex and difficult process, but one that constitutes the only way to save humanity.
Among the testimonies of particular significance is that of St John Paul II: in May 2002, meeting with President Michele Capasso and the Honourable Claudio Azzolini - responsible for institutional relations - on the eve of the opening of the Naples headquarters of the United States of the World, he stated:
“The United States of the World represents a laboratory of welcome, justice and peace, especially for young people. Thank you, Michele Capasso and Claudio Azzolini, for their commitment to peace”.
On that occasion, President Michele Capasso pointed out to the Holy Father the enormous difficulties of the action undertaken and the lack of freedom due to bureaucratic complications and the spread of a blind love of power; St. John Paul II's response was as follows:
“You must never give up. You are in the right and true: as for the lack of freedom, remember that true and just freedom means having the right to do what you must”.
