Italian Post Office special cancellation to mark the centenary of Mayor Raffaele Capasso

"Italian Post Office" produced a special cancellation to mark the centenary of the birth of Raffaele Capasso, Mayor of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio for 35 years and architect of the reconstruction of the town destroyed by the 1944 eruption.
In the presence of the Prefect of Naples Michele di Bari, the President of the Campania Regional Administrative Tribunal Vincenzo Salamone, Ambassadors and personalities from various countries, as well as Mayors from various towns in Campania, the ceremony of the PHILATELIC CANCELLATION was held, affixed to souvenir postcards and copies of the book "Raffaele, the Mayor" written by Michele Capasso and published by Edition San Paolo.
