The United States of the World honours Raffaele Capasso on the centenary of his birth and the 70th anniversary of his first election as Mayor

The United States of the World honours the figure of Raffaele Capasso on the centenary of his birth: Mayor of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio from 1955 to 1990, the day of his death, he was the architect of the reconstruction of his town destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 1944.
On this occasion, the following activities took place at an international meeting:

Projection of the docufilm "Raffaele the Mayor".
Presentation of the book "Raffaele, il Sindaco", by Michele Capasso (Edition San Paolo); speakers included: Michele Capasso, Secretary General of the United States of the World; Michele di Bari, Prefect of Naples; Gaetano Manfredi, President ANCI and Mayor of Naples and Metropolitan City; Vincenzo Salamone, President TAR Campania; Giuseppe Capasso, Mayor of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio from 1993 to 2015; Massimo Pica Ciamarra, architect, CSI President of the "United States of the World"; Giuseppe Panico Mayor of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio; don Enzo Cozzolino, Parish Priest of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio; Giuseppe Lumia, former President of the Anti-Mafia Commission, Mohamed Zinelabidine, former Minister of Culture of Tunisia and Director for Culture at ICESCO, Jamal Hassan, minister plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Holy See.

The meeting was coordinated by Pietro Perone, Central Editor of "Il Mattino".
On this occasion, the ceremony for the designation of Italian mayors as "Standard Bearers of the United States of the World" took place, and the Italian Postal Service created a special philatelic cancellation.
The event was held in connection with several countries around the world.
