The Municipal Council remembers Raffaele Capasso 100 years after his birth
The San Sebastiano al Vesuvio Town Council met in extraordinary session to commemorate Raffaele Capasso on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth and the 70th anniversary of his first election as Mayor of San Sebastiano: he was the architect of the reconstruction of the town destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in March 1944.
The hall, staircase and open space was crowded with fellow citizens who wanted to remember "O sìnnaco nuosto", as they liked to call him.
On this occasion, the docufilm "Raffaele, il Sindaco" was screened, and the book "Raffaele, il Sindaco" was presented with a postcard and Italian Post Office cancellation.
