Students and teachers from the Summer School of Community Health at the University de la Republica - headquarters in Paysandú (Uruguay) - have been appointed "Standard Bearers of the United States of the World" for having shared the principles and values of the institution summed up in the binomial "Earth and Peace". The awards were presented by Prof. Caterina Arcidiacono, delegate of the Secretary General.
At the headquarters of the University of the Museo Social Argentino (UMSA) in Buenos Aires, the ceremony was held to designate the University an "AMBASSADOR OF THE UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD". The International Committee of the "United States of the World", at its plenary session held in Naples on 18 November 2022, designated the University for being the oldest to deal with the problems and history of migration in Argentina. The title of "Ambassador of the United States of the World" was handed over by Prof. Caterina Arcidiacono - delegated by the Secretary General - to the University's dean Prof. Gustavo Maùçel together with Prof. Antonio Ismael La Palma (community psychology). The "Ambassadors of the World" appointed since 1994 include Francois Mitterand, Helmut Khol, Shimon Peres, Abu Mazen, Anibal Cavaco Silva, the Nobel prizes Naguib Mahfouz and Shirine Ebadi, Mohamed-El Aziz Ben Achour, Patrizio Bianchi, Moez Sinaoui, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and many others.
A delegation from the "United States of the World" attended the election of the President of the Chamber of Deputies in Uruguay in Montevideo. A demonstration of the widespread democratic practice in Uruguay is that the President is elected for one year and that post is occupied alternately by different parties.
The Secretary General of the United States of the World, Prof. Michele Capasso, awarded the titles of "Standard Bearers of the United States of the World" to students and teachers from the Vittorio Veneto Institute in Naples, the Rue de La République Institute in Gabès (Tunisia) and the IES Atenea in Ciudad Real (Spain). In thanking for the recognition, those present reaffirmed their commitment to spreading and affirming the values of the "United States of the World" enshrined in the Constitution approved on 18 November 2023.
Welcomed by the Secretary General of the "United States of the World", Prof. Michele Capasso, students and teachers from the Vittorio Veneto Institute in Naples, the Rue de La République Institute in Gabès (Tunisia) the IES Atenea in Ciudad Real (Spain) visited the headquarters of the "United States of the World" and its various floors. After retracing the history of the institution, starting with Gustavo Rol's 1987 appeal to young people, the Secretary General dwelt in detail on the value of the "Constitution" and, in particular, on the articles devoted to welcoming migrants, ecological conversion and the future of young people. On this occasion, students and teachers from the 3 countries were named "Bishops of the United States of the World".
