The United States of the World International Committee meeting in Montevideo (Uruguay) expresses condolences for the innocent victims who disappeared in the shipwreck off the coast of Crotone and appeals to the European Union to implement a common policy for migration, reception and the integration of migrants.
On Monday 27 February 2023, at 11 a.m., at the headquarters of the French Embassy in Montevideo (Uruguay), the ceremony was held to designate Jean-Paul Seytre, Ambassador of the French Republic to Uruguay, as "AMBASSADOR OF THE UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD".
The International Committee of the "United States of the World", at its plenary session held in Naples on 18 November 2022, designated Ambassador Seytre for his commitment to safeguarding the earth and building peace.
Among the 'Ambassadors of the World' designated since 1994 are Francois Mitterand, Helmut Khol, Shimon Peres, Abu Mazen, Anibal Cavaco Silva, Nobel laureates Naguib Mahfouz and Shirine Ebadi, Mohamed-El Aziz Ben Achour, Patrizio Bianchi, Moez Sinaoui, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and many others.
The title of 'Ambassador of the United States of the World' was presented to Ambassador Seytre by Professor Caterina Arcidiacono, founding member and delegate of the Secretary General.
THE UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD organised a solemn ceremony in front of the "Totem for Peace" with the urn of the Unknown Migrant in the presence of young Ukrainians and on the occasion of the first anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine.
"Naples City of Peace". With this slogan, many young people and students - who were in Piazza Municipio in front of the headquarters of the "United States of the World" and the "Museum of Peace" - visited the headquarters with the "Totem for Peace".
Secretary General Michele Capasso pointed out that on this particular day - the first anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine - the "United States of the World" is organising events in various countries: Naples, Montevideo, Tunis, Brussels, Sarajevo.
The young people present, in particular refugees from Ukraine, expressed appreciation for the peace action that has been conducted for 35 years.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine, young people from Ukraine together with students from various schools paid homage to the "United States of the World Flag" considering it as a good shadow under which to build, strengthen and maintain peace.
