World Migrant and Refugee Day

The "United States of the World" has celebrated in various countries the "World Migrant and Refugee Day" established by the Catholic Church since 1914. since 1914. It has always been an occasion to show concern for the different categories of vulnerable people on the move, to pray for them as they face many challenges, and to raise awareness of the opportunities offered by migration.
The title chosen by Pope Francis for the "2022 Day" message is "Building the future with migrants and refugees".
Secretary General Michele Capasso recalled the many initiatives implemented since 1990 by the "United States of the World" within the 2 main areas of action: "Migrants and Refugees" and "Reception and Integration".

Delivered the flag of the United States of the World with the appointment of the Statndard Bearers

The ceremony for the delivery of the flag of the United States of the World took place at the Municipality of Opi with the appointment of 3 "Statndard Bearers": Emiliano Grazzi, Arianna Giovanelli and Cecilia D’Addezio.
On this occasion, Secretary General Michele Capasso and the Mayor of Opi Antonio Di Santo – President of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park Community - spoke with the Tunisian Ambassador to Italy Moez Sinaoui in his capacity as Ambassador of the United States of the World and promoter of Opi's membership.

United States of the World: Pescasseroli and San Sebastiano al Vesuvio united in the "Land and Peace" programme

During a ceremony held at the Municipality of Pescasseroli, Mayor Giuseppe Sipari and Mayor Giuseppe Panico of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio joined the "Land and Peace" programme of the United States of the World, exchanging official flags.
Present at the ceremony were Secretary General Michele Capasso, International Committee President Massimo Pica Ciamarra and SUM members Giuseppe D’Antonio and Ferdinando Della Gatta.
