Ceremony for the appointment of Carlo Acutis as "Ambassador of Honour in Memory"
In Scampia, on the occasion of the joint naming event of the "Tommaso Campanella" Complex, the ceremony was held to nominate "Ambassador of the United States of the World for the Earth and for Peace" in memory of CARLO ACUTIS, for his being an exemplary model of values for the new generations and for those to come; present at the ceremony was Carlo's mother Mrs. Antonia Salzano Acutis who thanked the Secretary-General prof. Michele Capasso "for the high honour" and for the "good that the United States of the World does for humanity".
Present at the ceremony were the headmistress of the IC Alpi-Levi Rosalba Rotondo, the Councillor for Education of the City of Naples Maura Striano and other civil, religious and military authorities.
Mrs. Antonia Salzano Acutis recalled the importance of the "United States of the World", which brings together 181 countries and more than 16,000 civil society organisations united to save the Earth and ensure Peace.
"The nomination in memory of Carlo Acutis," said Secretary-General Capasso, "constitutes an important step in the journey of Love and Peace undertaken for 35 years.
In virtue of the resolutions passed by the International Committee - representing 181 countries and 16. 000 member organisations - which met in Marrakech (Morocco) on 18 May 2023, it was decided that the "Alpi-Levi" Comprehensive Institute of Scampia-Naples would become an "effective member of the United States of the World Network", with the delegation to the "pro-tempore" Headmaster to appoint all deserving teachers and pupils as "STANDARD BEARERS OF THE UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD", for the Earth and for Peace, as of 1 July 2023.
The students of the Istituto Comprensivo "ALPI-LEVI" in Scampia, appointed "Standard bearers of the United States of the World", planted the "Olive Tree of Peace" in the garden of the Institute and the "Tommaso Campanella - Carlo Acutis" Plesso.
The Police Chief of Naples Alessandro Giuliano and his family visited the United States of the World Headquarters and the Museum of Peace, a World Heritage Site, welcomed by Secretary-General Michele Capasso and Director Pia Molinari.
