Meeting with UM6P President Hicham El Abita

Secretary-General Michele Capasso, accompanied by Pia Molinari and Lhassan Hbid, met with the President of the Mohammed VI University - Polytechnic (UM6P) Prof. Hicham El Abita.
On this occasion, the Secretary General presented President El Habti with the "United States of the World" yearbook and the volume dedicated to Morocco, one of the first countries to join.
"Our university - said President El Abita - is a catalyst for a new active Africa: a centre of excellence that trains a new generation of leaders who will build the Africa of the future. We place research and innovation at the heart of the pedagogical project, as the engine of an ideal business in which students are themselves creators of solutions. We are proud to be the only university in the world that gives access to a special section of 'excellencies'even to those who have not done their preparatory studies: for us it is enough that they are geniuses in pectore".
"The United States of the World - details SG Capasso - “has placed education in the approved 'Constitution' as a fundamental pillar for the future of mankind, as it is indispensable to respond to the expectations of future generations. In a virtual dimension, as this splendid campus is, everyone can educate themselves, express themselves, commit themselves and propose their own solutions: an avant-garde pedagogical model capable of freeing knowledge based on the student's ability to manage their own learning".
Many shared the principles of the United States of the World that emerged from the colloquium: the proposal is to examine the possibility that the entire campus could become one of the universities that place the fundamental principles of the United States of the World at the centre of the various educational courses: from ecological conversion to commitment to young people, from the quality of living environments to the new role of architecture for the common good.

Visit to the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University

Welcomed by President Prof. Hicham El Abita and Prof. Lhassan Hbid, former President of the Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech, Secretary-General Prof. Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari visited the Campus and expressed their great appreciation.
SG Capasso recalled his long friendship with the architect and colleague Riccardo Bofill, author of the project and recently deceased.
He began the visit with the comment:
"The Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) is an institution dedicated to applied research and innovation: oriented towards Africa, its ambition is to become one of the world's leading universities in various fields.
Its campus, located in the municipality of Ben Guerir near Marrakech, is at the centre of the Green City Mohammed VI and has a national, continental and international reach.
More than a traditional academic institution, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic is a platform for experimentation and a hothouse of opportunities for students that everyone likes to call "the school of life".
It is a reduced representation of the outside world, with its challenges, perspectives and promises, and aims to reveal the potential of young Moroccans and students from all over the world.
UM6P is of course a knowledge centre dedicated to research, high-level education and innovation, in the service of development: but it is also an innovative educational approach, which places learning through experimentation and practice at the heart of training and research.
Our teaching methods are designed to serve curious and creative minds, whether students, teachers or partners. This safe space welcomes life in all its diversity, complexity and opportunities: it is not simply intended to train engineers, architects or even managers but, above all, to address the challenges of the present moment."

After receiving the award at the San Carlo Theatre in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, Queen Letizia of Spain, and other dignitaries, Felipe Vi had this to say:
"Visiting Naples once again, a city so closely linked to the history of Spain, is always an intense and evocative experience, and it is also so for the Queen and for me on this occasion".
Before the ceremony King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were guests of President Mattarella at Villa Rosbery.
